I have always been a wanderer, and travel and photography have been natural companions. My appetite for travel began in earnest in the early 70s with a hitchhiking trip across the US! Coincidentally, that trip included a trip to Yosemite Valley, where I was introduced not only to its incredible beauty but also to Ansel Adams' iconic images. Ansel Adams said “In my mind’s eye, I visualize how a particular…sight and feeling will appear on a print”.

Since that time I have had the good fortune to travel to many places, from the Arctic to the tropics. I realized the truth of Ansel Adams’ words: it is not only the sights, but also the emotions that are evoked by a scene or object, that provide inspiration. Together they give the photo an added dimension. Sometimes I am lucky enough to capture what I believe recreates a place and an experience for me.

These photographs are from places as varied as Alaska, Colorado, the Canadian Arctic, Fort Worth, China, Tibet, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Berlin, and Spain. Through them, I hope you will experience the unique flavors of each of these places.
